Meeting ministers under MCO, Zahid's daughter tells critic to lodge police report

Malaysiakini

The eldest daughter of Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Nurul Hidayah, has challenged critics to lodge a police report against her for the alleged breach of the ongoing movement control order (MCO).
The exchange took place on Instagram between Nurul Hidayah and a netizen who commented on one of her photographs taken in Putrajaya today after a meeting with Deputy Environment and Water Minister Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad.
"All this can be done via video conferencing," said the commenter, to which Nurul Hidayah responded, "Just lodge a police report, don't need to comment here."
"I am ready to cooperate and have my statement recorded. I dare (you)," she said.
Malaysiakini has contacted Nurul Hidayah for further comments.
Responding to Nurul Hidayah, the netizen said, "I don't accept this challenge... Thank you very much, I will just stay at home."
The photograph showed Nurul Hidayah together with her husband and Masrizal. They were standing apart in the photo taken outside the ministry's building in Putrajaya, and Nurul Hidayah, in her photo caption, described Masrizal as "a dear friend" to their family.
"Exchanging views and ideas is my way with Masrizal, the deputy minister, since the time he served as my father @ahmadzahidhamidi's political secretary not too long ago.
"A dear friend to our family," she said.
In a separate photograph from her earlier meeting with de facto Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Mohamed at his office, Nurul Hidayah hinted at a warm welcome received and a positive outcome from their discussions.
Last night, Nurul Hidayah revealed that she had written a letter to Zulkifli with concerns on several issues related to Islam, including alleged promotion of apostasy by several individuals.
"This is all for you, for our religion Islam that must be protected, so we will not be hit by any disasters," she said in addressing her followers on Instagram.
To a netizen who questioned how she was able to bypass the MCO and attend the meeting together with her husband, Nurul Hidayah merely responded with #malasnaklayanorangnegatif (ignoring negative vibes).
In a series of Instastory postings this evening, Nurul Hidayah was seen driving alone to the meetings.
Guidelines imposed during the second and third phase of MCO include for only one person to be in a car and travels limited to within a 10km radius unless with special permission from police or authorisation to work.
In another apparent swipe at her detractors, Nurul Hidayah again took to Instastory tonight and labelled them as the "not so intelligent" who might not know the difference between the MCO and total lockdown.
Several elected representatives and Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali had came under scrutiny over the last few days over their alleged failures to comply with MCO guidelines.
Noor Azmi earlier today apologised for his mistake and pledged cooperation to police investigations.
Responding to concerns of alleged double standards in police enforcement of the MCO, Defence Minister Ismail Sabri on Saturday said no individuals are above the law and all related police report will be investigated. - Mkini

  1. Under MCO cannot travel more than 10 km unless emergency. What is the emergency in delivering her opinion personally to ministers who had to layan her as her father is now back in power.
