Penang, Perlis score seven-day streak of zero new Covid-19 cases

Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | Penang and Perlis have both recorded zero new Covid-19 cases for seven days in a row, according to statistics released by the Health Ministry.
An infographic published by the ministry today revealed that as of Tuesday noon, several other states continued to record zero number of new cases. Data collected by Malaysiakini Newslab showed that these states have recorded no new cases for at least three consecutive days.
They are Kedah (six days), Kelantan (five days), Labuan and Perak (four days each), and Terengganu (three days).
Besides these, the statistics also showed that three more districts in Kelantan have zero active cases. They are Pasir Mas, Tumpat and Jeli.
Meanwhile, Kedah and Kelantan recorded single-digit active cases, at seven each.
Perak has 15 active cases, Putrajaya (32), Terengganu (58) and Pahang (91).
States that continue to show a high number of active cases are Kuala Lumpur (535), Selangor (320), Johor (264), Malacca (109), and Negeri Sembilan (100).
For the record, the active cases in Negeri Sembilan were all recorded in Seremban.
Last week, Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that states which have no new cases of Covid-19 in a 14-day streak would be declared as green states.
The same also applied to districts, sub-districts and villages, where they could become green zones by recording zero new cases.
A green zone is the designation given to areas that MOH says has no Covid-19 cases.
The government had said previously that they might impose the movement control order based on zones, where green ones would have some relaxation in the rules while red zones would see the strictest enforcement. - Mkini
