People are still going out despite MCO being enforced, say Selangor police

PETALING JAYA: Selangor police are bewildered that there are still many road users despite the movement control order (MCO) being enforced.
State police chief Comm Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin said that road congestion in certain areas in Selangor, especially Puchong, is due to many people going out.
He said the police are bewildered that there was an influx of people on the road on Tuesday (April 14).
"The MCO is still in effect so we don't understand why there are still many people on the road.
"Our roadblocks and deployment of personnel are still the same," he said when contacted on Tuesday.
Comm Noor Azam said stern action would be taken against those who violate the MCO.
"The people are supposed to stay at home during the MCO except those involved in essential services.
"We will take action in accordance with the law against those who failed to adhere to the MCO," he said.
He was commenting on a video, which showed a road congestion in front of a mall in Puchong on Tuesday.
The video has since gone viral on social media. - Star
