KLANG: PKR Youth vice-chief Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus has been expelled from the party.
Mohd Nazree said he received a letter dated April 1 stating that he was no longer a PKR member.
"I am shocked by the turn of events as I never expected this to happen to me," said Mohd Nazree when contacted on Friday (April 10).
Mohd Nazree is a close ally of former PKR deputy youth chief Hilman Idham.
Hilman was the political secretary of former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
Both Azmin and Hilman were earlier sacked from PKR.
According to the letter which was sighted by The Star, the party's central leadership council had decided on the expulsion on March 21.
The letter also stated that Mohd Nazree could appeal against the expulsion within 14 days from the date stated in the letter.
However, no reason was given as to why he sacked.
When asked if he would appeal against the expulsion, Mohd Nazree said he had no plans to do so at the moment.
"How can I appeal when I don't even know why I was expelled from the party?" said Mohd Nazree who joined PKR in 2010.
He explained that there would be grounds to appeal only if there were allegations levelled against him to support the expulsion.
"So, at this point in time, I accept the expulsion with an open heart," said Mohd Nazree.
He thanked the party and its leaders for giving him a chance to serve the people via a political platform. - Star
