Retiree is third virus death in Sabah

Tabligh participants are screened for the Covid-19 virus at a mosque in Shah Alam.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded its third Covid-19 death today after a retired senior civil servant died from the virus at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital here this morning.
State Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Frankie Poon told FMT that the man, in his 60s, had been breathing with the help of a respiratory machine.
It is also learnt that the man had attended the Sri Petaling tabligh convention in February.
Sabah’s first victim, a 58-year-old man in Tawau, had also attended the tabligh event while the second, a man from interior Tambunan, had travelled to the peninsula.
Yesterday, state health director Dr Christina Rundi said Sabah’s cases remained at 248. However, she cautioned that this was not a true reflection of the situation as a backlog of over 4,000 virus test samples still existed. - FMT
