PUTRAJAYA: The Women and Family Development Ministry has denied issuing a statement in response to allegations that the ministry had distributed Covid-19 aid packages worth lesser than promised.
“A false statement was uploaded to social media by irresponsible groups in regards to the price of food baskets distributed during the movement control order (MCO).
“The ministry has never issued such a statement. We appeal for your cooperation not to share this fake news,” it said in a statement issued on Facebook on Friday (April 24).
The Women Ministry was responding to a viral screenshot shared on social media, which branded a claim, that Covid-19 aid packages distributed by the ministry merely worth RM35 instead of RM100, as the delivery charge for the package was RM65, as fake.
