SEMPORNA: Seven men were injured after a tourist boat caught fire at the Dive Floating Centre here yesterday.
Eastern Sabah Security Command commander Hazani Ghazali said police received a call at 10.30am following the incident, in which four workers were transferring petrol from the boat’s fuel tank to a container.
He said there was a small explosion followed by a fire.
“There were seven men on board at the time,” he said, adding that the victims – four Malaysians and three migrants aged between 18 and 36 – suffered 5% to 30% burns on their bodies.
They are receiving treatment at the Tawau Hospital. - FMT
