Conditional MCO for KL, Selangor, Putrajaya and whole of Sabah

 


COVID-19 | A conditional movement control order (MCO) will be imposed in  Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor and the whole of Sabah. 

The measure will be imposed in Sabah at midnight tonight (Oct 13) while for the rest, it will be effective at midnight tomorrow (Oct 14).

Most industries will be allowed to operate normally but schools, daycares, places of worship, parks, sporting activities, social activities, weddings and entertainment outlets are off-limits.

Inter-district travel is only allowed for work purposes with proper identification issued by employers.

The full list of barred activities for Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor, according to the press briefing by Senior Minister (security cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob are as follows:

- Crossing district borders, unless for work purposes.

- Having more than two persons commuting together for grocery shopping.

- All forms of schooling - primary, secondary, tertiary, training institutes, childcare centres, kindergartens and tahfiz schools.

- Parks and recreation centres.

- Visiting houses of worship.

- All sporting, recreational, social and cultural events, including weddings.

- Entertainment outlets.

There are additional restrictions to the above for the territory of Sabah:

- Dawn-to-dusk rule (6am-6pm) for grocery shops, restaurants, food outlets, petrol stations, pharmacies and medical halls.

- Dine-in customers are not allowed.

- Wholesale and daily markets are only allowed to operate between 6am and 2pm.

- Taxis and e-hailing services can only operate between 6am and 8pm.

- All small and medium industries are required to seek permission in order to operate.
