KOTA KINABALU: The number of flood victims in three districts in Sabah increased to 287 from 86 families this morning.
Another flood relief centre was opened in Kota Belud, bringing the total to six so far. Seven victims are being housed at SM Agama Tun Said there.
The number of evacuees at the other three relief centres in Kota Belud remains unchanged – 131 at Dewan Masyarakat Tun Said, 60 at Dewan SK Pekan Kota Belud and nine at Dewan Muhibbah Tombol.
In the Tuaran district, 77 people are being housed at Dewan Seri Sulaman, up from 10 last night. There are also three individuals seeking shelter at Dewan Masyarakat Menggatal here.
The flood victims are from 32 villages scattered in the three districts.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department said bad weather is expected to continue today. - FMT
