Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri has again apologised to the public after he contracted Covid-19 and said he's taking the time while under quarantine for self-reflection.
"The time which Allah SWT has bestowed upon me gives me the opportunity to reflect and look towards improvement.
"From the bottom of my heart, again, I apologise for what has happened," he said in a Facebook posting today.
Yesterday, Zulkifli had issued an apology for his "weakness and shortcomings" in advising members of the public who attended events he had participated in between Sept 24 and Oct 4 to get tested for the disease.
He stressed that his health was improving.
Today, Zulkifli also shared his work report card for August. It involved details of an RM352.9 million fund dispersed for assistance in regard to Covid-19 and numerous activities carried out.
He said although his schedule in August was mostly focussed on Parliament duties, the agencies under his purview were committed to delivering on their respective programmes.
On Oct 3, Zulkifli had attended a special National Security Council meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. He later tested positive for Covid-19.
All those identified as close contacts at the NSC meeting have been issued with a 14-day Home Surveillance Order (HSO) beginning Oct 3 together with quarantine wristbands.
Others at the meeting who were not close contacts are required to monitor their health from their homes using the MySejahtera app’s home assessment tool. - Mkini
