PKR's Youth wing will lodge a police report against Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin over Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah’s claim of "political graft".
In a press release today, PKR Rawang assemblyperson Chua Wei Kiat (above) said the youth wing would lodge a police report against Muhyiddin at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters tomorrow at 10am.
When contacted by Malaysiakini, the PKR Youth coordinating secretary revealed that the police report is regarding the issue of political graft raised in Razaleigh's letter released yesterday.
"(Razaleigh's) statement mentioned that the prime minister offered GLC positions in exchange for support," said Chua.
In the letter, Razaleigh claimed that Muhyiddin had offered him the position of Petronas adviser, a post traditionally offered to former prime ministers.
Razaleigh, who is the Gua Musang MP, declined the offer because he was concerned about Article 48(1)(c) of the Federal Constitution on the "disqualification for membership of Parliament" if he "holds any office of profit".
After the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government came into power in February, the opposition had criticised the various political appointments made by Muhyiddin.
Meanwhile, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has been summoned to the Bukit Aman federal police headquarters tomorrow to give his statement over the list of MPs who purportedly support him to become prime minister. - Mkini
