The police have detained a Macau scam suspect who had escaped MACC custody earlier this month.
The suspect, Goh Leong Yeong @ Alvin, was detained together with a woman at a hotel outside the Klang Valley in the wee hours of the morning.
Utusan Malaysia cited Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador as confirming the arrest.
Goh was detained under the Prevention of Crime Act.
On Oct 11, Goh, a key suspect in the money-laundering investigation, was reported to have escaped while he was being transferred from MACC custody to the police.
He was among 10 people arrested by the MACC on Oct 7 over an illegal online gambling syndicate and the Macau scam racket.
The case had received widespread attention as eight police officers, the most senior of whom is an assistant commissioner, were among those detained.
The MACC also seized RM100,000 in cash and 24 luxury cars. - Mkini
