ecently returned from Sabah have tested positive for Covid-19 as of 12noon today.

When contacted, EC chief Abdul Ghani Salleh said all were presently being treated.

"They are at Hospital Sungai Buloh for further action," he said.

Abdul Ghani also confirmed that the total number of infected officers had risen from two to three in the past 24 hours.

The EC had deployed some 28,656 officers to Sabah for the Sept 26 polling day.

Malaysiakini has been made to understand that one of the infected officers is the index case of the Selasih cluster. It is yet to be known whether the second officer is part of any cluster.

The officer developed symptoms on Sept 25 and tested positive for Covid-19 on Sept 28, one day after landing at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

As of noon yesterday, the cluster had a total of seven cases - the index case's family (one adult and three children), a 36-year-old male from Putrajaya and a 44-year-old male from Sepang.

Malaysiakini understands that the 44-year-old had also recently been to Sabah.

The Health Ministry shared yesterday that test results for 13 close contacts were pending.

In a related development, Sinar Harian reported that two classes at Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 8 (1) have been ordered to close from Oct 1 to 14.
