Selangor water supply resumes after a brief interruption

Air Selangor reported a temporary water supply interruption after a brief shutdown to pollution at Sungai Selangor Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 and Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant.

The Rantau Panjang WTP was shut down temporarily at 11.30pm last night and the other three stations were shut down at 1am this morning. However normal services resumed within 4 hours.

"Air Selangor would like to inform that Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant has been operating since 3.30am this morning and Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant 1, 2 and 3 resumed operating at 5am after pollution in Sungai Selangor recorded a reading at level 0 TON (Threshold Odour Number) three times.

Due to the temporary shutdown, an estimated 1,274 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat may still experience some water supply disruption this morning but it is not expected to last long.

"All necessary action was taken to expedite the unscheduled water supply disruption," said Air Selangor. - Mkini
