SUBANG JAYA: A toddler was rushed to hospital after her father stabbed her in a fit of rage.
"Our personnel at Bukit Puchong police station received a distress call that a man ran amok and stabbed his daughter in the stomach at a flats at Puchong Permai.
"The complainant also called for an ambulance from the Serdang Hospital to attend to the toddler's injuries," he said when contacted on Saturday.
He said the 27-year-old suspect has been arrested and a bread knife was seized.
"We have recorded statements from the complainant, as well as other witnesses.
"The one-year-and-six-month-old toddler is in stable condition and receiving treatment at the Serdang Hospital," he said, adding that the Welfare Department would be notified on the case.
He said police would test the suspect's urine to see if he was on drugs during the incident. - Star
