Don't fear Covid-19 vaccine, Kelantan MB says after getting inoculated

Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob felt a little nervous this morning as he was waiting to get injected with the Covid-19 vaccine.

But once it was all over, all his fears dissipated, he said.

"I was nervous before the injection because there are all sorts of stories. But after getting the vaccine, I can say that it didn't hurt or anything, it was a regular injection.

"So, I want to tell the public not to be afraid to get the injection," Ahmad (above) said at a press conference in Kota Bharu today.

The PAS leader was the first of 48 people to get vaccinated in Kelantan today.

Also vaccinated were Deputy Menteri Besar Mohd Amar Abdullah, the state exco, state police chief Shafien Mamat, and other frontliners.

They all received the Pfizer vaccine.

Ahmad said 21,645 frontliners in Kelantan will be vaccinated under phase 1 of the vaccination programme.

Of this, 1,416 will be inoculated this week.

He urged Kelantan's 1.2 million population to get vaccinated, saying that if 70 percent get inoculated the state would be safer.

Kelantan had recorded 486 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 14 days. - Mkini
