There is no need for those who have already registered for Covid-19 vaccination via the MySejahtera app to resubmit their application, said the National Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
He said this after several posts went viral on social media platforms urging people to do so, in order to prompt a confirmation screen to appear on the app.
“Your previous registration did go through. People who were registered previously should be getting this (confirmation screen) pushed on their MySejahtera overnight without having to register again,” he said on Twitter, addressing one such viral post.
He explained that MySejahtera was merely undergoing changes to its user interface, and the registration data has already been captured on government databases.
These changes should be reflected for all of the app's users tomorrow.
Since the start of the vaccine registration drive on Feb 23, MySejahtera has undergone at least one app update that occurred on the following day.
As of 3pm today, over 1.77 million people have registered their interest to receive Covid-19 vaccination through MySejahtera. Up to yesterday, 53,287 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Other channels for registration will soon be opened, including the government’s vaksincovid.gov.my website on March 5.
Earlier today, several social media posts were widely circulated, giving step-by-step instructions for MySejahtera users to resubmit their application for vaccination in order to prompt a confirmation screen to appear.
The screen is different from the one that appeared for those who registered when it was first made available on MySejahtera, and shows the timeline of the entire vaccination process from registration to the issuance of a digital certificate.
Several variants of the social media posts claimed that the registration is unsuccessful unless the new confirmation screen appears.
