PANCHOR: Schools and kindergartens here were recently sanitised to ensure students learn in a safe and hygienic environment.
The programme was led by Muhammad Shamsuddin Paijan, Johor and Pagoh Armada chief.
"Young children are most vulnerable to illness so the environment they are in must be clean. We also hand over food supplies," said Shamsuddin.
In Pagoh, kindergartens and schools such as the Kampung Raja and Paya Redan religious schools as well as those in Kg. Jorak, Bukit Temiang and Pagoh Jaya were sanitised.
This programme was spearheaded by an NGO called Suri Pagoh Prihatin Association (Suri) in collaboration with the Pagoh parliamentary office.
"We sanitised the schools before they re-opened," said Janariah Abu Nawan, Suri chairman and Pagoh Srikandi Chief.
Janariah thanked Datuk Tahir Taat, Pagoh special officer to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, for organising sanitisation teams for identified schools.
Also present was Suhaila Hashim, Nation of Women (NOW) Pagoh chief. The programme will end today at Gersek. - NST
