Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is reportedly upset at Umno supreme council leaders who have been leaking the contents of their meetings.
Utusan Malaysia reported that Zahid (photo, above) had zoomed in on two Umno supreme council leaders but did not name them.
The report said the Umno president made the revelation when addressing Malacca Umno division leaders in Masjid Tanah on Monday.
"Zahid informed that the two Umno supreme council leaders, a male and female, have been identified, and investigations will be conducted.
"The Umno president also said that he would announce their names soon and action may be taken against them, including the possibility of a sacking," the report said, quoting one of the attendees of the meeting.
Zahid, who is steering Umno away from the Bersatu-led Perikatan Nasional, has been facing resistance from within his own party.
Among the vocal leaders who have spoken out against the party's direction is Ketereh MP Annuar Musa, who was removed as the BN secretary-general amid his cordial ties with PN. - Mkini
