PETALING JAYA: An 11-month-old baby fell to her death from an open window of a third-floor flat at Sri Aman public housing project in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said Jinjang police had found that the victim was said to be playing with his brother, sister and cousin on the bed next to the window in the first room of the house.
“Investigation found that the window in the room was not barred. Further investigation found that no criminal elements were found in the incident,” he said in a statement.
He said the mother took her child to Selayang Hospital for treatment but the baby was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital’s emergency unit.
“The autopsy report showed that the death was due to severe injuries to the head due to falling from a high place. The case was classified as sudden death,” he said. - FMT
