Saiful Nizam Ab Wahab, the father of a teenage girl who exposed a teacher for allegedly making lew jokes in class, is considering offers from individuals to sponsor his daughter to another school.
Saiful said he and his 17-year-old daughter, Ain Husniza, were seriously considering the offers so that Ain can study in a conducive environment.
"From early on, Ain wanted to continue studying at the same school because it's a good school and many teachers had helped her all this while.
"It's just that after all that happened, there are many things that Ain has to consider so that she can continue to study in a conducive environment," he told Malaysiakini.
Ain had put a spotlight on how schools treat girls after she came forward about her teacher's alleged inappropriate behaviour.
In a video posted on TikTok, Ain alleged that the male teacher had made jokes about rape during a physical and health education class.
This included telling the boys in class that if they were to commit rape, they should target those above 18.
Yesterday, Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said that several individuals had stepped forward to sponsor Ain's schooling up to tertiary level.
Complimenting Ain for highlighting the issue, Amirudin told the media that it's up to Ain's family to accept the offers.
Saiful also said there were offers to sponsor Ain to a private school. Until today, he said, Ain has yet to return to schooling.
"Ain has not returned to school (since she was in the spotlight) as I think it's not suitable for her to do so for certain reasons," he said. - Mkini
