Graphic artist Fahmi Reza must surrender his Twitter account to the authorities as part of a criminal investigation against him.
Fahmi confirmed this in a Twitter message and also announced an alternative account pending the investigation.
"The @kuasasiswa Twitter account will be seized by the police and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for investigation and to collect evidence.
"Please follow my backup account at @fahmirezakl," he said in the Twitter post.
Fahmi was arrested on April 23 for creating a jealousy-themed Spotify playlist with a picture of the Queen and the words "Dengki Ke?" (Jealous?) as the cover.
This was in reference to the Queen's social media comment when asked if her chefs had been vaccinated.
Fahmi had also highlighted the playlist on his Twitter account.
He was released the following day after the magistrate only granted police a day's remand.
Police are also investigating a group of people for organising a solidarity gathering when Fahmi was arrested. - Mkini
