Israelis committing same horrors as the Nazis, says Dr M

PETALING JAYA: Israelis are now committing the same atrocities on Palestinians as the Nazis did to them in the past, says former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“Once again, I have to take to the TV because of the dastardly acts of the Israelis,” he said today in an Astro Awani broadcast.

“We would have thought that after suffering under the Nazi regime, when millions of them were put in concentration camps, the Jews would have a feeling of sympathy for those who suffer.

“Instead, the Israelis are now inflicting the same kind of horror onto Palestinians in their attempt to seize Palestinian land.”

Dr Mahathir Mohamad says all Muslim states and those who believe in human rights must back “Palestinians to the hilt”.

Mahathir, a known advocate of the Palestinian cause, said there was a need for a diplomatic solution to solve the problem as there was nothing to be gained from violence.

He also called for all Muslim states and other nations who believed in human rights to back “Palestinians to the hilt”, adding that it was important to “sit down and think of a proper strategy” to achieve victory.

“With them backing the struggle of the Palestinians, I believe we will find a solution to this Arab-Israel conflict. It is not worth it to think only of revenge or fighting.”

According to Mahathir, rockets fired from Gaza were nothing compared to the destruction Israel had caused on Palestinian land.

He also condemned the Israeli police for attacking Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, at a time when they were praying and at their most vulnerable.

“I hope the Muslim world will awake to the present situation and I wish that we all would suffer less from the kind of roguish, violent activities of Israel against Palestinians and against humanity.” - FMT
