KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah expressed shock and sadness over the news of the collision involving two LRT Kelana Jaya line trains in the city last night.
Istana Negara in a statement today said the King, nevertheless, expressed gratitude to Allah that all passengers involved were rescued and taken to the nearest hospitals for treatment.
"Al-Sultan Abdullah also prays for the speedy recovery of all the victims, including six who are in critical condition and 15 in semi-critical condition at HKL (Kuala Lumpur Hospital)," the statement read.
While describing the mishap as a serious incident, Al-Sultan Abdullah extended his appreciation to the security and emergency response teams for their speed and agility in rescuing and providing emergency treatment to the victims.
At the same time, His Majesty also hoped that the relevant agencies would give priority to the victims, especially in providing necessary and comprehensive treatment and assistance to ensure their wellbeing.
The King also expressed hope that the incident would not recur and that it would be a lesson to all quarters to always ensure the safety and wellbeing of the passengers. - Bernama
