More incidents of MySejahtera application rescheduling Covid-19 vaccine appointments have surfaced on social media as netizens continue to vent their frustration over the process to get themselves inoculated.
Some even encountered weird experiences, including having their appointment set far from home.
Lawyer Syahredzan Johan took it to Twitter this morning on his aunt's case, who has lived in Johor all her life but got her immunisation appointment scheduled at a vaccine centre in Subang Jaya, Selangor.
"My aunt had been living in Johor her whole life, even her IC number is Johor.
"This morning, she received a date for her vaccination. In Subang Jaya. I wonder how many others had to go through this too," he Tweeted.
The matter was resolved when Syahredzan's cousin, who helped to register his aunt for vaccination, managed to contact the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV) hotline.
However, according to Syahredzan, the hotline claimed that it could have happened because a wrong address was keyed in during registration.
He refuted this, saying that there was no reason for the appointment to be scheduled in Subang Jaya.
"My cousin said she had double-checked during registration and made sure that my aunt's address is in Johor. While my cousin lives in Selangor, she does not live in Subang either. So there is no reason why my aunt is given an appointment at the Subang Jaya vaccine centre."
In another case, a netizen said MySejahtera suddenly stated that his mother had defaulted her vaccine appointment after it changed the date from June to May 27, unbeknownst to them.
Another netizen, Twitter user @IqbalShamsul, said his mother was scheduled to get her first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine at the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam on June 9.
This was later changed to another venue - Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre in Subang - which is a vaccine centre that administers vaccines other than AstraZeneca. The date was maintained on June 9.
However, on Thursday, she found out that the appointment had been rescheduled to morning on that same day itself.
"My mother was assigned an AZ shot in June, then rescheduled for a non-AZ shot (Sunway PPV) in June also.
"Suddenly YESTERDAY PM, her slot got moved to YESTERDAY AM. @my_sejahtera shows she ‘defaulted’. Was my mom expected to time travel?" the user Tweeted yesterday.
He also attached another screenshot of his mother's MySejahtera appointment, which stated that she had defaulted her immunisation appointment.
In a corresponding Tweet this morning, @IqbalShamsul said the problem has been resolved and thanked JKJAV, the minister in charge of the vaccination programme Khairy Jamaluddin, and the latter's officer.
Booked slot but no appointment
Meanwhile, more individuals who enrolled in the voluntary opt-in programme for the AstraZeneca vaccine on May 26 have also come forward, claiming that they were not given appointments despite managing to book a slot.
For the record, JKJAV had opened a second round for AstraZeneca opt-in from May 23 for senior citizens, and on May 26 for those below 60. Close to one million slots were filled in less than two hours on May 26.
Loh Siew Mei, 28, told Malaysiakini that she and her younger brother had managed to book slots for AstraZeneca for the second round after trying for more than an hour.
However, to date, neither of them had received their appointment details.
"We managed to book our slots at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre for a date at the end of July and got to the 'Terima kasih' page at the end.
"But neither of us got our appointment dates until now. Some of our friends, who managed to get their booking within minutes after us, had got theirs.
"More frustrating is that when I called the hotline last night, they told me that successful submission does not mean we will get our appointments," said the private sector employee, who had also tweeted her issue.
Sub-editor Melissa Darlyne Chow, 37, who is in Penang, also had a similar experience.
She had booked a slot at the Setia Convention Centre, which is the only vaccine centre for AstraZeneca in Penang.
"I tried booking a slot for about half an hour before I successfully submitted my registration and got to the 'Terima kasih' page.
"But, since then, I have been checking my MySejahtera app until today, but there is no update on my appointment.
"I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app, still no changes," she said.
In a tweet, JKJAV said those who booked AstraZeneca shots on May 26 but have not yet received their appointments will receive them soon.
"Appointments for round two of AstraZeneca vaccinations are still being set," it added.
An official with the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry told Malaysiakini that they are checking with the team that handles the MySejahtera app. - Mkini
