No double standards? What about this VIP, says BN man

Muhyiddin Yassin in a media interview on Sunday. In response, a BN official posted a photo of Muhyiddin seen in public not wearing a face mask.

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has been urged to explain what action has been taken against a “big shot” who was photographed without a face mask in public.

The VIP in the photograph? Muhyiddin himself.

Selangor Barisan Nasional information chief Isham Jalil who made the call said Muhyiddin should give an explanation to spare the public any unease.

Isham’s posting comes in the wake of Muhyiddin’s media interview last night in which he said action would be taken against anyone who breached Covid-19 rules.

“We do not practice double standards. We do not care if it is a minister, prime minister, whoever breaches (Covid-19 rules), and we have evidence according to the law, they will not escape punishment,” Muhyiddin had said in the televised interview.

In response, Isham posted on Facebook a clip of the interview accompanied by a photograph of Muhyiddin seen in public without a face mask.

The photograph shows Muhyiddin arriving for a Johor Bersatu meeting on March 31. News reports on his chairing the meeting, and photographs of his arrival, were published at the time in several news websites including Kosmo!, Utusan Malaysia, and Sinar Harian.

Isham said: “It has been almost two months since the ‘big shot’ was seen breaching SOPs, but until today, what action has been taken?

“So what now? PM, please explain to avoid unease among the public.”

Under Covid-19 rules, those who fail to wear a face mask in public face a RM1,500 compound. - FMT
