KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah has outlined three key areas to make the police force serve the community better.
He said these were to boost integrity among police personnel, strengthen the service delivery system and continue the government’s efforts to maintain the well-being of society.
As part of the efforts, all state and district police units will conduct in-service training, he told Bernama. These courses should be conducted at least once a week to update the staff on current issues.
He expressed the need for reforms in the work culture to enhance integrity in the police force.
“The police force will never hide any form of criminal offence, misconduct, corruption or indiscipline among its personnel,” he said.
Acryl Sani said the police slogan “Ready to Serve” should be obeyed by all police personnel.
He also gave his assurance that the welfare of police retirees would not be neglected.
“I’ll instruct all district police chiefs to update information on police retirees, like their addresses, to the Police Retirees Unit in Bukit Aman,” he said. - FMT
