Sarawak sticking with CMCO until May 17

The Sarawak government has decided to stick with its existing conditional movement control order (MCO) but with tightened restrictions until May 17.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said the tightened restrictions, which will come into effect tomorrow, include no dining in at eateries.

“Restaurants, food outlets, bistros, cafes and food and beverage stalls are not allowed to have dine-in service.

"Activities involving packaging or selling food are only allowed to have takeaway, drive-through or delivery services.

“Steps also need to be taken by premises which have been identified as high-risk in spreading Covid-19 by the Hotspot Identified for Dynamic Engagement (Hide) system,” it said in a statement today.

A more detailed list of the new SOPs will be announced on the Sarawak National Security Council’s website.

This decision comes after Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced yesterday that an MCO would be implemented nationwide from May 12 to June 7.

Sabah has also decided to remain with its conditional MCO until May 17. - Mkini
