Selangor employers can now purchase Covid-19 immunisation jabs for their workers after the state government initiated a facility to sell Covid-19 vaccines to employers in the state who plan to immunise their workers in an effort to curb the spread of the virus.
Companies can register to procure the vaccines via the Selangkah app, announced state executive councillor for public health, Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud, on her official Facebook page.
“Selangkah has opened the registration process for employers who are interested in getting the vaccine for their staff."
More details are available on the Selangkah website and app, but they do not clarify which vaccine will be given out. Malaysiakini has contacted Siti Mariah (above) for more details.
She also denied a viral message on social media which claimed that 500,000 Sinovac vaccine doses are to be made available to residents in the state.
She stressed that all official statements on vaccine policies can be issued only by Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari or herself and urged the public to obtain proper and accurate information through the following Facebook pages: Amirudin Shari, Dr Siti Mariah, Selangor Task Force Covid-19 and Media Selangor.
In February, Siti Mariah had announced that high-risk workers in the state would be among those to be prioritised for inoculation, with the doses bought by their employers.
The group includes foreign workers, she added.
The Selangor government had previously announced the allocation of some RM100 million to help expedite the National Immunisation Programme.
