YOURSAY | Apart from Tajuddin, sack all incompetent ministers too

YOURSAY | ‘Umno ministers who have similarly underperformed must be removed as well.’

After Tajuddin’s sacking, Umno man trains guns on Bersatu, GPS ministers

Meerelzty: Umno supreme council member Razlan Rafii, you only highlighted incompetent ministers from Bersatu but conveniently forgot to mention the equally incompetent ones from your own party, especially the “air suam” minister.

You also glaringly omitted those from PAS, who are worse off, because your party may need to ally with them in the next GE.

Well, there is nothing surprising about incompetent people being given positions in the government as they are needed to support the backdoor government. Never mind that they don’t have the necessary qualifications and competency to helm the various ministries and government-linked companies (GLCs).

Vijay47: Party loyalty, especially within Umno, is a necessary trait. Hence, the popularity of the phrase “as thick as thieves”.

You have named seven members who you sniffed as being especially unworthy of applause. I certainly do not disagree.

So pray tell us, Razlan, of the 72 members ministers and deputy ministers, give or take, in Muhyiddin Yassin’s modest government, how many, in your mind, come up to mark. 50? 40? 20? No? Many had the same problem.

I will lower the bar further for you - five. Can you name five persons from Umno or even elsewhere who can be taken as being capable leaders of honour and integrity? Yeah, the wedding is ready, but those invited are not worthy.

GreenMoose7204: As the saying goes, this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

You have as many ministers and deputy minister from your party. Why didn’t all of you say “No need. We want effective and efficient cabinet members, not those that sit, look here, look there and warm their chairs.”

Many of the GLC heads are also from your party. Shall we sack all of them and select only those who are capable and reliable, but not by you and your party heads, not by the PM and the heads of the other parties, but by the people who actually voted for change?

Dare to do that?

Rzee: Firstly, Umno is a part of this backdoor government. Secondly, their own appointed ministers are dolts and inexperienced idiots.

Thirdly, Umno wanted Malay leaders and succeeded in ousting Pakatan Harapan with this rubbish slogan and these seven were the chosen ones to lead the government with some being ex-Umno. Now you want to object?

Too late, Umno. Live with your wonderful all-Malay backdoor partners.

2 Cents: Razlan is asking Perikatan Nasional (PN) to stop their politics, but isn’t this selective criticism a political antic?

Why blame the home minister alone on the issues of Covid-19 SOP enforcement? I thought the defence minister (Ismail Sabri Yaakob from Umno) is overall in charge of SOP implementation. So why don’t you criticise the latter instead?

Plus, I’m not too sure why the ministers from PAS have not been singled out in his criticism. Almost all of the PAS ministers are relatively unknown as compared to the seven named by Razlan; a sign that they are worse than being incompetent.

BrownKite6870: I see no PAS or Umno ministers on the list.

Razlan, you make it so obvious that you are definitely not impartial in preparing this list. You should have at least camouflaged it with one or two non-performing Umno ministers to let it seem more credible.

Okay, now we know you hate Bersatu and GPS. So why are you still sharing the same bed with them? You hypocrite.

Coward: There is nothing wrong with Umno leader Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s sacking his post in Prasarana. He should have gone long ago. It’s only this time when he put his foot in his mouth in such a way that no one can rescue him that we get relief from his incompetency.

Razlan is trying to turn it into a party feud with Bersatu. If he had been sincere in getting rid of bad cabinet ministers, he should list those from his own party and PAS. He is obviously trying to seek revenge. That shows his mentality and him prioritising protecting the unprotectable over truth and competency.

Yes, there are people on his list that I think should be removed. However, this is not the way.

Besides, to be fair to those being removed, Umno ministers who have similarly underperformed must be removed as well. Such a house cleaning will be welcomed.

Puffins: Yes, don’t point fingers, Umno ministers are not doing well either.

Coordinating Minister of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Khairy Jamaluddin spent RM70 million on a dud system that couldn’t cope with the vaccine registration.

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri keeps coming up with flip-flop SOPs. The worst thing he did was to open Ramadan bazaars that started the current spike in Covid cases. Health Minister Adham Baba has no clue how to handle the high influx of cases.

PAS, we don’t need to mention. They are all half asleep. The fact is none of the ministers or deputy ministers and the PM has any clue on how to handle Covid-19.

Malaysian1: Sorry to say, most non-performing ministers are from Umno.

Either there is no room for smart people in Umno or they cannot rise through the ranks as they cannot match the political cunning of the incumbent veterans.

Apa Nama: Razlan, you do me a favour now. You can make this list longer, from seven “ineffective” cabinet members to cover all 70 members of the government.

Please do not forget the PM. He should be on the top of your list.

Skippy: That reminds me. Don’t we have a special envoy to the Middle East? Someone from PAS? What has he done? Anything useful?

Yes? No? Maybe? Don’t know? - Mkini
