Azmin: 15 ministries vet CIMS 3.0 applications, not just Miti

The International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) said it is not the sole arbiter of which firms can operate during the total lockdown period.

In a statement today, minister Azmin Ali (above) explained that various ministries were involved in vetting applications through Miti’s Covid-19 intelligent management system (CIMS 3.0).

“Fifteen ministries use the CIMS 3.0 system to expedite the process of vetting applications for approval to operate under their respective sectors.

“After these ministries verify these applications, these companies in question will be able to print their approval letters through CIMS 3.0.

“Miti is not the sole decider in deciding if a business sector is considered as an essential service or otherwise,” Azmin added.

Malaysiakini previously reported some glitches with the CIMS 3.0 system, including how non-essential services had already gotten approvals.

Essential sectors like food and beverage outlets, however, were struggling to get approval letters due to the unstable CIMS 3.0 website.
