Some vaccine appointments at Mitec delayed for around a week

Some vaccine appointments between June 14 and June 18 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) in Kuala Lumpur will be postponed for around a week.

This was announced by the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) on Twitter.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng questioned if this was due to a shortage in supply of Covid-19 vaccines.

However, the JKJAV explained this was to prevent overcrowding.

"These changes were made to provide the public with a more comfortable experience as well as enabling optimal social distancing in accordance with the standard operating procedures," it said.

The appointments will be postponed to between June 21 and June 24.

It will only affect those who have been scheduled to be vaccinated at HCO A, Mitec.

JKJAV urged those with appointments from June 14 to June 18 at the venue to check their MySejahtera application to see if they are affected.

Lim said the last-minute postponement was an inconvenience and urged the authorities to prevent a repeat of such incidents.

"Everything must be done to ensure such postponements do not happen again.

"The vaccination process must proceed smooth and without obstacles, if we want to achieve herd immunity," he said.
