Stop passing the MySejahtera ‘bug’ around, Putrajaya told

The problems in the MySejatera app must be fixed, especially to allow flexible rescheduling for recipients to get vaccination appointments, says MP.

PETALING JAYA: Putrajaya has been told to look into complaints raised by the public on the MySejahtera app instead of “passing the bug” to one another.

Bintulu MP Tiong King Sing said there have been numerous problems submitted by the public on registering for Covid-19 vaccination but the science, technology and innovation ministry and health ministry are instead pointing fingers at each other.

“What kind of service is this? The government must clarify each other’s responsibilities.

“Don’t be ‘syiok sendiri’ with the current rate of vaccinations,” he said in a statement.

He said the problems in the MySejahtera app must be fixed, especially to allow recipients the flexibility to reschedule their appointments.

He also wants the database at vaccination centres to be synchronised to prevent any data breaches.

“The government is relying on MySejahtera data to schedule recipients in batches to receive their vaccines but the fact is that the app is ineffective in many ways, and this has caused a lot of inconvenience to the public,” Tiong said.

He gave the example of how those who had registered on the health ministry’s website later discovered that they were not registered on the MySejahtera app.

For others, he said they were given vaccination appointments in cities or towns which are in other districts or even states.

Tiong called for the ministries to examine the flaws in the existing procedures, including reconsidering issuing the small cards to recipients who have had their second dose.

He said laminating or distributing official certificates of better quality will help a lot more and also not require that much more in resources.

He suggested that the official certificate could also be synchronised with the app to serve as a digital vaccination certificate. - FMT
