Wan Saiful: Najib now 'complainer-in-chief' to divert from tainted past

Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan blasted former premier Najib Abdul Razak today, calling his frequent criticism of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration an attempt to divert attention away from his corruption trials.

In the latest round of salvos that reflects the escalating tension between Bersatu and Umno, Wan Saiful questioned the former prime minister's relentless “trolling” of the PN government and claimed it was a necessary “diversion” strategy for Najib.

“Now that the courts are closed due to the movement control order (MCO), Najib doesn’t need to go back and forth to court, so he can be the full-time national complainer-in-chief,” Wan Saiful (above) mocked Najib on Facebook today.

“Najib’s main strategy is to ‘divert’ attention to other issues so people would forget what he did. (He makes) plenty of complaints about his own government so people’s attention is ‘diverted’ away from the billions that were robbed.

“(He’s trying to) show himself as Umno’s hero, so people in Umno will forget they lost the 14th general election because people were angry at Najib,” he added.

Wan Saiful then took a jab at Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, accusing them both of paying cyber troopers to carry out a vendetta towards him.

“Interestingly, every time I make a comment about him, thousands of cyber troopers come to attack my post.

“If his wife Rosmah is said to have paid RM100,000 every month to cyber troopers, I wonder how much Najib pays (cyber troopers) in a month?”

Relations between Bersatu and Umno are getting increasingly hostile as a majority of Umno members have voted to end their cooperation with their splinter party.

In a further exchange, Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi questioned Wan Saiful over the latter’s proposal to set a registration deadline for the national vaccination programme.

In a Facebook post this morning, Puad repeatedly criticised Wan Saiful on his deadline proposal, describing the measure as “forced and blackmailing”.

“That is how PN does things. (They) like to punish.

“But they don’t punish thoroughly,” he said, seemingly referring to the alleged double standards of law enforcement during the MCO.

Wan Saiful has called for a sense of urgency among the people and hit out at those who were not serious about vaccination.

"Some are taking it easy or keep procrastinating from registering. Apart from that, there is also propaganda from the anti-vaxxer group," he had said.

Puad struck back at Wan Saiful over the matter asking: “What about the rural areas, islands, and Orang Asli villages?

“If Malaysians are lazy then why did they scramble over the AstraZeneca vaccine when the government offered it to them?

“Has Wan Saiful investigated why those registered months ago on MySejahtera have yet to be called for their vaccination appointment?"

Puad questioned the necessity of a registration deadline and asked why the government and Bersatu machinery couldn't work to speed up the progress of the vaccine registration campaign. - Mkini
