Opposition has no useful ideas, says Wan Saiful

Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan said that opposition MPs have not presented any useful ideas for the country during the special Dewan Rakyat sitting.

“The opposition keeps on screaming and objecting to everything the government is trying to say. They are opposing for the sake of opposing and are destroying the country.

“The fact is the government has done its best and the opposition does not have any new ideas,” said Wan Saiful in a statement today.

Wan Saiful said Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had shown magnanimity in his speech in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday by admitting that the government was not perfect.

“Rightfully, (the opposition) should use that opportunity to provide new ideas to improve on what the government is doing,” said Wan Saiful.

He urged all critics, especially the opposition, to put aside the “political fanaticism” and truly help the country’s Covid-19 response.

“This is a time to show magnanimity. The prime minister has paved a path for us to work together and rebuild the country.

“The opposition should emulate Perikatan Nasional’s magnanimity for the country. Only during the next general election do we compete in a healthy manner.

“Now is not the time to entertain those with personal agendas or are trying to save themselves from court cases. The people must come first,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal accused the opposition of “harping about emergency” when the Health Minister Dr Adham Baba was speaking.

“All these antics are nothing but a political charade to usurp, using rakyat’s predicament as means to their end.

“And some of these liberals suddenly become pro-Monarchy? Hypocrites. Their political DNA has no love for such an institution,” he said.

Over the past two days, opposition MPs have repeatedly demanded an explanation from the executive on de facto law minister Takiyuddin Hassan’s claim that all emergency ordinances promulgated during the emergency period this year had been revoked.

As of 6.15pm today, there are no federal gazettes indicating such. - Mkini
