It is not just the unbelievable size of this new airport (near Beijing). Or the USD18 Billion (RM72 Billion) price tag. It is the amount of new technology that is being placed at every corner of the airport to interact with passengers and people who will be using the new airport. Facial recognition check-ins, Customer Service by robots that can speak multiple languages, seamless access to departure gates, high speed train services etc.
The miracle of China is not just the most advanced technology but the "democratisation of technology".
From airports to the latest electric vehicles, the 5G Huawei smartphones, Chinese designed Apps, Artificial Intelligence robots and automation etc the Chinese push the latest, most uptodate and highest technology right down to the street level, at the lowest possible prices.
They make the latest technology available to the Chinese people as fast and as cheaply as they can. This is the secret of China's rapid advancement and success.
The ordinary man-in-the-street in China (as well as the teenagers and young kids) are overdosed on technology.
