Hashim Jasin: Khairuddin issue mere 'storm in teacup'

 

PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin has played down Khairuddin Aman Razali’s removal from the party’s syura council as a mere ‘storm in a teacup’ and not an internal party conflict.

He expressed confidence that the matter would be resolved amicably following the syura council decision.

“It is not a big issue, like a storm in a teacup. God willing, it will be overcome, discussions are ongoing.

“There are ongoing efforts and I’m confident that we will resolve it in a good way,” Hashim told Malaysiakini.

Khairuddin (above), who is also the Kuala Nerus MP, was removed as syura council secretary on Feb 11.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said Khairuddin position had been nullified after the PAS central committee revoked Khairuddin’s appointment to the syura council.

“To become a secretary of the council, one has to become a member of the council first. So, (he's) dropped from the council and removed as the secretary,” Hadi told reporters in Marang, Terengganu.

Asked whether the syura council would seek the party president’s explanation on the matter, Hashim said an explanation has already been given.

“We have already got the explanation and the syura council is meeting to discuss it,” he said. - Mkini
