KUALA LUMPUR: A new judge is to hear FGV Holdings Bhd’s suit against former chairman Isa Abdul Samad and former group president and CEO, Mohd Emir Mavani Abdullah, as the previous judge has been transferred to Penang.
The case was scheduled to resume in the High Court here on Feb 21 before judicial commissioner Quay Chew Soon, who has been transferred. He will be replaced by judicial commissioner Mohd Arief Emran Arifin.
Lavinia Kumaraendran, representing Isa, said Arief Emran had set the hearings for Feb 21-23 and March 28-29.
The suit was filed by FGV to claim compensation amounting to RM7.69 million over the purchase of a luxury condominium in Troika, Persiaran KLCC, that was said to be above the market price.
FGV is claiming RM4.54 million from the two defendants on the purchase of the condominium, and RM3.15 million from Emir. It is also claiming 5% annual interest on the amount. - FMT
