Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar has become the latest lawmaker to contract Covid-19.
She posted an update on her status on Instagram today, saying that both her antigen and PCR tests results were positive.
Nurul Izzah (above) said she had already been observing quarantine after her son Raja Harith Raja Ahmad tested positive on Sunday.
"Since we were all quarantining already - we will just continue observing the home surveillance order, and doing our best to protect Safiyah (her daughter) from contracting the virus," she said.
According to the MP, both her children have already been fully vaccinated, and she herself has taken a booster shot as well.
Nurul Izzah said she and her son are only experiencing mild symptoms.
"However, Covid-19 is no walk in the park - having been a dengue survivor - it does bring back memories, albeit not nearly as painful and back-breaking," she added.
Nurul Izzah said getting vaccinated was important, and in her earlier post on Sunday, encouraged parents to get their children vaccinated as well.
Parents currently have the option of making a Covid-19 vaccination appointment for their children aged five to 11 via the MySejahtera app. - Mkini
