GEORGE TOWN: An NGO helping single mother Loh Siew Hong said today it is hopeful of police action soon to help her recover her three children, who are alleged to be in the care of religious authorities in Perlis.

David Marshel, a spokesman of the Malaysian Tamilar Kural group, said they are awaiting confirmation of possible police action tomorrow.

He said he had been informed that the police will be heading to Perlis tomorrow to get Loh’s children. “We will wait and see what will happen tomorrow. We will also prepare for court action if actions are not taken to reunite Loh with her children,” he said.

Loh was divorced from her husband last year and was granted full custody of their three children – twin girls aged 14 and a boy aged 10. They were last known to be with her former husband’s family. She filed a police report in Kepala Batas yesterday to seek the return of her three children, from whom she has been separated for three years.

She told reporters yesterday that she was informed by a woman that her children were now in the care of religious authorities in Perlis.

FMT has sought comment from Perlis religious affairs committee chairman Ruzaini Rais. - FMT
