JOHOR BAHRU: Johor police said six deaths in road accidents were recorded in the state since April 29.

The six fatal accidents were in Johor Bahru Selatan, Kota Tinggi, Segamat and Kluang districts, Johor police said.

There were 727 accidents reported, and police had issued 7,249 summonses for six main traffic offenses: driving beyond the speed limit, driving on emergency lanes, cutting across double lanes, cutting queues, using mobile phones while driving and crossing traffic lights.

Traffic flow in all districts in the state is smooth and under control, he added, according to Berita Harian.

The police spokesman urged road users, especially those travelling during the long weekend to be ethical, patient, and not to become emotional while on the road.

“They should refrain from making any kind of provocation that could endanger themselves and other road users,” he said. - FMT
