6 appointed to MACC’s independent monitoring bodies

 

Those appointed comprise professionals and experts in various fields to represent the people in monitoring the implementation of MACC’s functions and operations.

PUTRAJAYA: Six people have been appointed to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) independent monitoring bodies.

In a statement today, MACC said that five of them were re-appointed as members of the Operations Assessment Panel (PPO) while another was appointed to the Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel (PPPR) to replace a member who resigned in December last year.

The letters of appointment were handed over by MACC’s chief commissioner Azam Baki at its headquarters here.

They were appointed by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob for a two-year tenure.

They comprise professionals and experts in various fields to represent the people in monitoring the implementation of MACC’s functions and operations, the statement said.

The appointments are from April 1 to March 31, 2024.

It said the PPO chairman will be former Attorney-General’s Chambers prosecution division deputy head Ahmad Rosli Mohd Sham.

Others in the PPO are former Kelantan state secretary Faudzi Che Mamat, former Inland Revenue Board deputy chief executive (compliance) Abdul Manap Dim, former customs department deputy director-general (enforcement and compliance) Azimah Abd Hamid and former Bank Negara Malaysia financial intelligence and enforcement division deputy director Mazlan Ahmad.

The new PPPR member is Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) deputy executive chairman Salim Fateh Din. - FMT
