CHUKAI: A Form 2 student sustained serious injuries following a 10-metre fall from an overhead bridge at her school.

Kemaman police chief Superintendent Hanyan Ramlan said the female student was using the bridge which connected two academic blocks located across the road.

"The victim was said to have wanted to get to the block located across the road after finishing a Yasin recital at 7.30am.

"Police rushed to the scene upon receiving a report of the accident and immediately sent the victim to the emergency ward for treatment," he said when contacted.

Hanyan said the student was reported to have injured her hip and advised the public against speculating on the matter.

He said the police were carrying out investigations over the incident. - NST
