Do you recognise him? Boy found in Gombak yet to be claimed

A boy believed to be between three and four years old was found wandering alone in Gombak a week ago and has yet to be claimed by his next-of-kin, according to police.

The authorities today made a call to the public and urged anyone who recognises the child or has any information about his parents or relatives to come forward and assist the police.

"So far there is no next-of-kin or family member who has come to get the boy.

"He has been placed under the care of the Gombak Welfare Department," said a spokesperson for the Gombak district police headquarters.

Last week, Gombak district police chief Zainal Mohamed in a statement said that the boy was found by a member of the public at about 2.24pm on May 11.

The boy was later surrendered to the police, who then took him to the Selayang Hospital for checks before handing him to the Welfare Department.

Police described the boy being around the age of three or four with dark skin and an estimated height of about 60cm.

Anyone with information can contact police officer Rafidah Abdul Aziz at 019-3509963 or the Gombak police operations room at 03-61262222. - Mkini
