FIVE Rajapaksa family members have quit from the Sri Lankan Cabinet including Mahinda Rajapaksa who quit as the Prime Minister. Only the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa remains in charge of the government.
On Monday 9 May, 2022 rioters burned down three residences belonging to the Prime Minister plus houses belonging to other Cabinet Ministers. 7 people have died so far including a government MP who shot himself after shooting two rioters who attacked him.
Things are calmer after Monday but still very tense in Sri Lanka. Apa relevan untuk Malaysia? Do read on.

Ok so only the last Rajapaksa fellow the president remains in power.
But that is not going to help Sri Lanka at all. He will have to go as well.
The last rajapaksa is still hanging around to safeguard all the contracts and projects given to his corrupted cronies. If he leaves the corruption money will stop. Lets see what happens.
Even if all the Rajapaksas leave the country in the next few days the problems faced by Sri Lankans will not go away. The government has no money - all the people's money has been squandered away by the corrupted politicians. The government is bankrupt. They cannot fix that in one day or even one year.
The economy is dead. There are no jobs for the people especially the young people. They have little future.
Sri Lanka needs to completely change and overhaul all its policies - racial, political, education, economic policies to be at par with a normal, modern, democratic country. WHY? Because only then the economy will start functioning properly and normally.
Part of the huge problem in Sri Lanka is that the religious people, the monks, have been very influential in politics.
You mix religion and politics, then be prepared for your country to burn in hell. Any hell - of any description.
