PETALING JAYA: Petrol prices have gone up to between S$3.04 (RM9.59) and S$3.10 (RM9.78) a litre in Singapore, reflecting fears of a ban on Russian oil.

Russia is the world’s third-largest oil producer. The European Union has been holding talks on a partial ban on Russian oil following the invasion of Ukraine.

The Straits Times newspaper reported that 92-octane petrol had gone up by as much as nine cents a litre in Singapore, while diesel has gone beyond the $3 (RM9.46) mark for the first time at Shell, Caltex and Esso.

The Consumers Association of Singapore said there were modest increases in the prices of 95-octane and 98-octane petrol; 95-octane is between S$3.07-S$3.19, while 98-octane is now between S$3.55 and S$3.68. - FMT
