PETALING JAYA: The prime minister’s aide-de-camp, Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, is expected to step out of his current position to take up a role at Bukit Aman soon.

FMT has learned that the former Selangor criminal investigation department (CID) chief will be transferred to the crime prevention and community safety department as the principal assistant director.

When contacted, Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani only confirmed that “the transfer order has been issued”.

Meanwhile, Nik Ezanee has refused to confirm or comment on the matter, pending an official announcement by Bukit Aman.

“I don’t know. Let’s just wait for the official announcement,” he said.

Last month, Nik Ezanee, who was also the former Petaling Jaya district police chief, told the media that he had relayed his intention to Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob for the transfer.

Nik Ezanee was appointed Selangor CID chief in April last year after holding the post of Petaling Jaya district police chief from February 2020.

In December 2021, he was appointed as the aide-de-camp to the prime minister.

He was popular among the public for widely reported acts of kindness through the “one good deed a day” programme during his stint in Petaling Jaya. - FMT
