PETALING JAYA: Eight victims who survived the Batang Kali landslide disaster have been allowed to return home.
The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) said the victims, aged 13 to 44, have been discharged from hospitals since Friday.
It said they were treated at Selayang Hospital, Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital and Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
“Any updates on information regarding the victims of the disaster will be communicated from time to time upon official confirmation from the responsible agency,” it added in a statement.
Yesterday, Bernama reported that the body of a girl had been found at the site of the landslide at 11.15pm.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Suffian Abdullah said the girl was believed to be between five and seven years old.
Her body was sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem.
Another eight people who were at the three campsites when the landslide hit last Friday are still missing.
With the discovery of the body, the death toll now stands at 25.
A total of 61 people survived the landslide, which took place at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite at Gohtong Raya, near Batang Kali.
