KUALA LUMPUR: There is fake news being spread about a RM500 special cash aid for senior citizens, says the Rapid Response Team of the Communications and Digital Ministry.
It said the Social Welfare Department had denied issuing any news regarding a so called "Bantuan Warga Emas RM500 Bagi Tahun 2023" that has gone viral on social media recently.
Accurate information on any assistance issued by the department is available only through its official website at www.jkm.gov.my.
The public was also advised not to be easily influenced by or to spread unverified information, and instead to always make check or refer to the official website or social media of the related ministry, department or agency to obtain authentic and up-to-date information. – Bernama
