The management of Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd (MKLSB) which is Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd, said in a statement today that it will not hesitate to take legal action against any parties involved with disseminating false and/or defamatory information regarding MKLSB., Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd and/or their directors.
“We would like to assert that we take the spread of false and/or defamatory information mvery seriously and will conduct further investigations into the same.
“Legal action will be taken against parties involved where we will claim losses and damages.
“We will also be engaging the Ministry of Communications and Digital with regard to this matter to set the record straight.
“We would like to stress that all dealings with regard to MKLSB had all been done above board and through proper due diligence,” said the management.
It said that it would like to seek the cooperation of social media users to stop sharing and/or spreading false information, making defamatory statements and speculations, which it said was intended to undermine the reputation and/or image of the companies and its directors.
Yesterday the MACC announced a probe concerning the transfer of equity in MKLSB to Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd.
Telekom Malaysia has since clarified that the decision to dispose of MKLSB was undertaken in October 2021 to focus on communications - its core business - instead of tourism.
Kuala Lumpur Tower is a government-owned asset and MKLSB has been the concession holder to operate and maintain the tower since 1996. - Mkini
